Our Awakening in Chicago

While we were in the midwest in August we had the unbelievable privilege of being a part of what I really believe was history in the making. The two of us traveled to Chicago with great long-time friends of ours, the Morehouse's, where we gathered with nearly 18,000 other people for a three day event called Jesus Culture Awakening 2011.

Let me sum it up. Think about the music of Hillsong United, Jesus Culture, Jake Hamilton & more...accompanied by the teachings of Bill Johnson, Reinhard Bonnke, Lou Engle, Cindy Jacobs, Sean Smith & Banning Liebscher. It was an intense three days of soaking up words of wisdom and teaching from giants in the faith, and it was a day of all out worshiping the Lord, and with thousands and thousands of others.... I either thought the roof was going to pop off the place, or that Jesus himself was coming back - incredible! We were blessed time and again, we were encouraged to pursue intimacy with Jesus all the more, we were challenged to expect God to do the impossible, ad we were filled to over-flowing.

Obviously an experience like this is difficult to sum up in a blog entry, but yet I felt it was important enough to mention that they were days that greatly marked us both, days that the Lord used to further light a fire for what He wants to do through us and our family, and days that we will never, ever forget.
