I'm not sure if it's visitors, or work, or family....it must be some combination of all it...but I'm a bit behind on blogging...I'm gonna do my best to catch up over the next couple of days.
On May 8th, our son Jake celebrated a birthday. I can hardly get over the fact that he is 10 years old. Wow! We celebrated with our family, and with Andre (his friend and our neighbor). We had a great time creating games for the kids to play, spending time in the pool together, eating lunch out together at Jake's favorite place, SUBWAY, having cake and ice cream, and then watching a movie together as a family. It was a great day, and a great way to celebrate our son!
Jake has held his own pretty well in a house full of mostly girls. In fact one of his favorite past times seems to still be reeking havoc in the lives of his four sisters! Jake is extremely content when playing outside, watching a movie, and playing video games. Much to our surprise, his latest joy has become reading - which we are extremely excited about. He literally can't stand putting a book down once he has started it. Jake has an extremely sweet side, that mom and dad love to see. He loves to create art and leg creations, and he is always wanting to make mom or dad a fruit smoothie or bring us breakfast in bed.
If you ask Jake about the future he still has little to no idea about what he'd like to do when he grows up - but at 10 years old I don't think he needs to worry about it too much. We have watched this little guy grow into what he is today. We know that God has surely watched over him, and surely has great plans for his life!
