How is it exactly that the years slip by as quickly as they do? I know this is a phenomenon that becomes more and more real the older you get, but this year literally seemed to be over in a blink. As we began to celebrate Christmas 2010 it literally felt like we had JUST celebrated Christmas 2009 - uh oh, guess I'm getting old!
Today, our oldest child Corinna turned eleven. It literally seems impossible. I'd be lying to say it seems like yesterday, but it honestly feels like just a few years ago that God brought her to live with our family - she was 7 months old at the time. We had no idea what the future held. We had no idea that about a year and a half later she would join our family permanently through adoption. I love that God knew. I love that He had His eye on her since she was being knit together in her mother's womb - and He knew exactly the plans that He had for her. To us it just feels like she has always been a part of our family.
God continues to know the exact plans He has for her. She is growing into quite the young lady. She is extremely smart. She loves to read, no let me explain, she reads circles around her dad....like she can finish a 400-500 page novel in ONE DAY, who does that? She loves to write. She loves to create. She loves to always have a project going. Whether she's working on invitations to her birthday party, or writing a screen play, or plotting out ideas for books she is going to write - I love it. We cannot know for sure, nor can she...but God has GREAT plans for this young lady. We love her, and we're proud to call her our daughter. Happy 11th Birthday Corinna! God has a GREAT and WONDERFUL future in store for you!
