God Goes After The "Two"

On Wednesday morning, we brought the women back to the government facilities - this time to have a Christmas party at a temporary shelter in Cancun, known as C.A.T. The C.A.T. Shelter is where children are placed when they are removed from their family for situations of abuse or neglect, or where there is an open investigation going on and the child needs a safe place to stay in the meantime.

We arrived for the Christmas party in our full festive mode - bringing the 30+ children there a skit, crafts, cookie decorating, lunch, and a personal gift for each one of them. To my knowledge it's the first time Back2Back has done a Christmas party in a government facility. We are talking about a BIG door that the Lord has opened. Not only are we talking about a government setting, and a door that we were able to walk through, but we had a chance to do a drama, and present the gospel, and something miraculous happened. As we performed the skit about evil and the lies it tries to tell you, and how there is a prince who wants to rescue you from that evil...God had divine appointments with two of the teenagers temporarily staying in this shelter.

One teenage boy, and one teenage girl were able to talk with our staff, and they both explained that they "knew" this evil. The girl has been in a whole slew of danger, including some involvement with gangs and drugs, and her very life being in danger. Literally, just one day before, this young girl had tried to commit suicide. The boy, had another story altogether. He shared about a life of great pain. Much of his life he had been physically abused by his family of origin, and that just recently, after the death of his birth mother, his step mother had put him on a bus, sending him away, wanting nothing more to do with him. He was feeling absolute and utter rejection.

But God, in his infinite wisdom, and perfect timing, showed up on the scene, and brought this Christmas party with a message of hope, with the message of Christ. And both this young woman, and this young man gave their lives to Jesus the day we were there. Incredible? Yes, absolutely unbelievalbe, and 100% the work of the Almighty God. We are still in awe as we think about the open door, His perfect timing, and His amazing love that always goes after the "one" sheep, or well, in this case....the "two"!
